Joris Voorn - Live @ #SmirnoffHouse x Parklife

Manchester's Parklife festival has grown into one of the leading events in the UK, locking in impressive bills year on year. This year, Mixmag has once again teamed up with the Smirnoff Sound Collective to showcase some of our favourite acts at the #SmirnoffHouse. We'll be showcasing a mix of bumping tech-house and murky bass music with Joris Voorn, My Nu Leng, Sam Divine, Barely Legal and Lauren Lo Sung. This year the #SmirnoffHouse is influenced by Burning Man's Robot Heart stage: a converted bus with corrugated iron panels and a massive Void Acoustics System. The Smirnoff Sound Collective is about bringing fans closer to the DJs in unique and intimate settings. It is also dedicated to providing talent with a solid platform to grow. Check out more on the Smirnoff Sound Collective here. Powered by a VOID soundsystem and complete with balcony and fully stocked cocktail bars, the arena is the perfect place to see some big name acts in an intimate environment.

Jesse Rose b2b Harvard Bass b2b Brillstein - Live @ Mixmag Lab LA Play It Down Takeover 2017

Jesse Rose's illustrious career spans well over a decade, seeing him rise as a house and techno artist with residencies at iconic global venues like Fabric and Panorama Bar to an all-around beloved curator, performer, producer and label boss of not one, but four imprints: Front Room, Made To Play, Play It Down and its subprint A-SIDED. Sadly, Rose broke the news early in 2017 that he planned to retire his music career following the release of his 'Alright Mate' album and a subsequent tour around the world. Mixmag catches him in the midst of his Thanks For Dropping By tour which will see him play at some of his favorite venues and festivals with special b2b sets with the likes of Seth Troxler, Eats Everything and more for a final stint in The Lab LA. He'll be joined by Harvard Bass for a special back-to-back set on Friday. The Mexican American producer has released on Seth Troxler's Tuskegee, Green Velvet's Relief, Tiga's Turbo and of course, Jesse's Play It Down with his 2017 'Grand Master' EP. Also joining Jesse will be Play It Down artist and Los Angeles scene staple Brillstein, also known as Thee Mike B.

Ivan Smagghe - Live @ Farr Festival takeover x Mixmag Lab LDN 2017

This Friday we welcome masterful French selector Ivan Smagghe into The Lab LDN for a special Farr Festival takeover. Backed by two and a half decades of experience in the game, Ivan Smagghe has earned the unwavering respect of dance music peers and fans across the globe for his trailblazing musical exploits. His DJ sets are revered for being roving, genre-defying trips across all corners of the music spectrum, packed full of obscurities and underpinned by an edge of exhilarating weirdness. The Kill The DJ label and party he co-founded was started as a reaction against homogeneity within the house and techno club sphere, providing a platform to get loose and explore all manner of sounds. As a producer he crafts equally unique and emotive tracks, both as Ivan Smagghe and in groups such as Black Strobe and It’s A Fine Line. Across these multiple projects he traverses darkness and lightness with deft skill, combining his far-reaching influences to form rousing records.

Andrea Oliva - Live @ Mixmag LDN 2017

The Lab LDN is Mixmag and Coors Light's weekly live stream, powered by Void Acoustics, where we showcase the finest DJs direct from our world famous office party. This Friday we welcome Swiss-Italian house hero Andrea Oliva into The Lab for an hour of power fresh off a 12" for Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations. Oliva has spent the last decade working his way to becoming one of tech-house’s top selectors and producers. Having DJ’d since the age of 15, he first made his name locally with the Banditz parties across his native Switzerland that featured all night DJ sets that took him across the continent and on to Ibiza. The White Isle has played a crucial role in Oliva’s career. It was where he debuted his first release in 2004, where he helped launch his ANTS party in 2013 at Ushuaïa Ibiza and where he will launch his new Tuesday night residency at Hï Ibiza in The Club Room this summer. Since 2012, Oliva has really honed his production and gathered support from the world’s biggest names. The ‘Click Off’ EP on Cadenza and ‘Scene’ on Be As One, saw him break into the Beatport Top 10 download chart, and his ‘Rise Of Angels’ remix his number one in 2013 and became one of Cadenza’s biggest selling records ever. In 2015, Oliva released his debut solo album ‘4313’ on Dennis Ferrer’s Objektivity imprint, a milestone that was warmly received by critics and fans and a springboard for releases on Cuttin’ Headz, Desolat and Relief Records.

Sasha - reFracted:Live @ The Barbican Hall 2017

Ever delivering something fresh and exciting, Sasha announces the full line ups for his reFracted : live shows in December. He will be joined by Kölsch and Jon Dasilva at Brixton Academy on 14th December; Dusky and Jon Dasilva on 15th at Manchester’s Apollo; and Paul Woolford at Glasgow Barrowland on 16th, ensuring each show will be spectacular from doors opening. Intimate after parties exclusively for ticket holders are also in the works, including at Phonox and Sub Club. ‘Really excited to finally be able to announce the full line-ups for our December reFracted shows. We really wanted to make sure these shows were rocking from the minute we open the doors so have hand-picked a bill that can deliver that’ Sasha says. Every aspect of this show is something the revered live artist has curated carefully and personally, from the iconic venues to the set list to a cherry-picked lineup. ’What’s really special about Brixton is that I’ve done so many DJ gigs there, hosted NYE here, festival after parties, but getting to play live there feels like an amazing trajectory’. Returning to Manchester is always a spiritual homecoming for him too, and fans there especially will be overjoyed that Sasha’s first ever mentor and original Hacienda resident Jon Dasilva will be warming up. Dasilva was the one who invited Sasha to his first gig at Hacienda and seeing this relationship come full circle is not one to miss. Glasgow’s Barrowland was also home to one of his very first gigs in Scotland twenty five years ago. ‘I was supporting 808 State, A Class and I think A Guy Called Gerald.. I always love playing to a Scottish crowd, I’ve got such a history in Scotland’. On top of an epic bill throughout the weekend, things are ramping up with the set production and design to accompany the brand new music that Sasha has promised will be delivered. This will be the first opportunity to hear new tracks nobody has heard before outside the studio! ‘I've been spending every available minute in the studio with the team the past few months and can't wait to play this new music to you all live for the first time. Production designs are well underway and to say we're upping our game with the show design for this round of shows is an understatement. December can’t come soon enough!’

Goldie and Ulterior Motive - Live @ Mixmag Lab LDN 2017

On Friday May 19 we’re thrilled to be hosting drum ‘n’ bass pioneer and all-round legend Goldie alongside dynamic duo Ulterior Motive for a special Metalheadz session, in what promises to be a high-octane final Lab LDN showcase in our search for the Label Of The Decade. Goldie boasts one of the most distinguished careers in UK dance music. Metalheadz has been a hotbed for innovation and first-rate music since its inception in 1994; his personal discography is equally impressive, encompassing multiple studio albums and many timeless tunes; and he's even been awarded an MBE, which he threatened to melt following fabric’s temporary closure. After growing up in the Wolverhampton care system, Goldie’s journey to the top of the game has been explosive, which his forthcoming memoir All Things Remembered promises to chart in “uncensored, hard-hitting” detail. Ulterior Motive will join Goldie for the Metalheadz Lab LDN showcase. The South Coast-hailing pair have established themselves among the label’s esteemed roster with a string of fine releases over the past four years, including 2014 debut LP ‘The Fourth Wall’ and recent Record Store Day collaboration with Goldie ‘I Adore You’. Prior to The Lab, you can catch them helming the Rinse FM airwaves on May 17.
