Kerri Chandler - Live @ Mixmag Lab 2017

Since the early '90s, Kerri Chandler has been an absolute force in house music. He’s effortlessly evolved from a fresh talent to the royal status he holds today. His positivity and love for his craft has earned him a horde of followers hanging on to every beat of his dance music gospel. Chandler has carved a career out of soulful deep house that never fails to whip up a club. Beginning his career behind the decks in his native New Jersey at the tender age of 13, Chandler grew up surrounded by his father’s (a popular DJ in his own right) record collection. That musical knowledge put him in good stead as he went on to release on famed East Coast labels like King Street, Nite Grooves and Nervous Records and play gigs the world over. Always one to dispense knowledge on the younger generation, Chandler often speaks about inspiration whether it’s from a peer or his daughter. There’s no doubting his career is an inspiration for any upcoming musicians with even a passing interest in his music.

M.A.N.D.Y. - Live @ Mixmag Lab NYC 2017

The Lab NYC is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly afterwork party where we stream the best American and international DJs from the intimate space connected to our Brooklyn office. This Friday, Mixmag welcomes Berlin duo M.A.N.D.Y. to The Lab NYC. M.A.N.D.Y., the pair of Philip Jung and Patrick Bodmer, are known for their bumping house and techno sound and elusive collective personas. The two are childhood friends whose musical development ran parallel for most of their adolescence. After slating across the Frankfurt club scene throughout the early 2000s, Jung and Bodmer created their collaborative project M.A.N.D.Y. and soon founded the Get Physical label. The pair's next big release comes with their debut album 'Double Fantasy', dropping this week on the imprint. Jung and Bodmer will be celebrating the LP all week in Miami and later at a secret Brooklyn located in collaboration with House Of Yes, where they will share the stage in New York City for the first time in six years for Dévotion's two-year anniversary.
