Droog and Inxec - Live @ Mixmag Lab LA 2016

Los Angeles trio Droog have been championing their moniker for nearly a decade. Andrei, Brett and Justin have only progressed since their entrance into the scene in the late 90s and have since gone on to own and master a variety of different roles: label heads of Culprit, their imprint born in 2009, as promoters of an event series in the city that helped direct and channel Los Angeles's scene and finally, as producers - each strong in their own individual right, collectively and also with their longtime collaborator Inxec. Inxec is an underground standout and Nottingham output that arrives in downtown Los Angeles to showcase his sound and skill. Born Christopher Sylvester and also known as Sound Alliance (his progressive alter-ego), Inxec has found success on Jay Haze's imprint Contexterrior, Crosstown Rebels, Culprit, Last Night On Earth, Get Physical and more.

Route 94 b2b Secondcity - Live @ Mixmag Lab LDN 2016

Since taking on the Route 94 moniker Rowan Jones has rocketed to prominence. His flair for groove-laden house productions connected instantly with a vast audience, with his debut single ‘My Love (ft. Jess Glynne)’ hitting the Number 1 spot in the UK singles chart. Staying true to the underground he loves and not selling out (he easily could have done) he’s delivered quality releases through Leftroom and Defected, and through his DJ sets on a world-spanning tour. Growing up in house’s birthplace Chicago instilled Secondcity with a love for the genre from a young age. He also scored a Number 1 hit with the infectious ‘I Wanna Feel’ in 2014, and has secured residencies at revered dance institutions such as Sankeys Ibiza, been tapped for a remix by Carl Cox, and released on Knee Deep In Sound, Toolrom and Saved Records. Later this month he’s contributing the first in a series of live & direct mix compilations from CR2 featuring 10 new and exclusive

Seven Davis Jr. - Live @ Mixmag Lab LA 2016

Born Samuel Davis Jr., Seven came upon his numerical moniker when he combined the numbers of his birthday (April 3) and coined himself as Seven Davis Jr. The Texan born, California-raised artist got his start young. At only 3 years of age, Seven began his training in gospel and and jazz, eventually moving on to Acid Jazz and R&B vocal styles. His early interest in music led him to a fruitful time of exploration as he bounced from ghostwriting to ghost producing, and eventually signed with Ninja Tune in 2014. A year later, he released his debut album 'Universes', and most recently was inspired by the passing of his hero Prince to move on to the next chapter with his own imprint 'Secret Angels', where he plans to release 'Live From The Other Side', the sophomore follow-up album that will arrive before 2017. Seven Davis Jr. will head to Lights Down Low on August 5 after The Lab LA.

Amine Edge & DANCE - Live @ Mixmag Lab NYC 2016

The Lab NYC is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly afterwork party where we stream the best American and international DJs from the intimate space connected to our Brooklyn office. This Friday, Mixmag is excited to present Amine Edge & DANCE as the second performance of a special Lab double-decker. Amine Edge & DANCE first stepped onto the scene as the initiators of the G-House movement, a powerful and fresh fusion of hip-hop and house music. The two were friends for 15 years before deciding to collaborate and went on to become top talents in the dance music realm. After running the G-House game for many years and starting their own label CUFF, the pair decided to take a break from their signature genre. The France hailing producers now concentrate more on house music, but the talent, energy and raw funk of their sound is still at an undeniable high.
