Justin Jay - Live @ Mixmag Lab LA 2015

The Lab LA is our weekly post-work session where we bring you the best international and American DJs live from our secret Hollywood location. This Friday we have LA's rising house DJ and producer, Justin Jay. At just 21 years old, Justin Jay is the youngest prodigy of the Dirtybird family, and has been tearing up the ranks since he broke onto the scene five years ago. His music has gained massive support from Dirtybird labelhead Claude VonStroke, Jamie Jones, Pete Tong and Disclosure, and he has also put tunes out on LA-based imprint Culprit, and Fatboy Slim’s Southern Fried Records. This month sees the young producer set sail on HARD's Holy Ship!, throwing down on the Dirtybird Stage alongside Green Velvet, J.Phlip, Kill Frenzy and more.

B.Traits & Friend Within - Live @ Mixmag Lab LDN 2015

Two massive sets in our weekly office party. B.Traits actually smashes it out of the park. Radio One regular B.Traits brings Friend Within to The Lab LDN. They play XOYO, London. Mixmag favourite B.Traits swings by fresh after tearing our secret Bugged Out! Weekender party a new one. Having made her first appearance in The Lab as part of the Digital Soundboy takeover back in 2012 she’s well and truly gone from strength to strength. Now a regular on Radio 1, her eclectic sound combines techno, jungle, house and everything in between. Releases on the likes of PETS, Dirtybird and Disclosure's Method Records combined with regular support form the likes of Annie Mac, Pete Tong and Skream has made Friend Within one of the fastest rising stars of the last two years. His take on house has also lead him to remix Bondax and John Legend and we’re delighted to welcome him in for his long overdue debut on MixmagTV.

Apollonia - Live @ Mixmag x Syncrophone, Paris 2014

We’re selecting some of the best DJs in the business and taking them back to the record shops that mean the most to them. They will then lay down an immensely special set from their record shop of choice and needless to say, the mix is 100% Vinyl. This year we’ve provided a portal into some of the best record shops in Europe. Cassy took us to Berlin's Hard Wax, Mr Scruff lead us to Piccadilly Records in Manchester and Tom Trago took us to the impeccable Rush Hour Records in Amsterdam. For Part 4 in the series we’ve chosen one of the tightest DJ collectives on the planet: Apollonia. Mixmag cover stars back in August, the French trio of Dan Ghenacia, Dyed Soundorom and Shonky are vinyl collectors, players and lovers in every sense. Throwing down immaculate house and righteous techno on wax is second nature to the Gallic crew
