Martin Buttrich and Guti - Live @ Mixmag Lab LA 2014

Martin Buttrich and Guti dropped it the LAb LA as part of Buttrich's #9414 20 Year Celebration Tour. Martin Buttrich has been on the scene for twenty years and his slick production skills have earned him Grammy nominations and massive respect among the heavyweights of dance music. The Barcelona native has embarked on a two-month global tour to celebrate his twenty years in the business, and has also announced a forthcoming record label and a collaboration album due out in 2015. The #9414 20 Years Tour also features a series of huge guests including The Martinez Brothers, Pete Tong, Lee Burridge and Guti. The Argentinian-born producer Guti found his way into house music via his classically-trained upbringing, a wild South American rock band and by 2010 his career in dance music had firmly taken off. He has releases on a number of notable imprints including Wolf + Lamb, Crosstown Rebels and Supplement Facts, and earlier this year he launched his own label called Rompecorazones Music and his release of the same name was distributed British house slingers Defected Records.

Visionquest - Live @ The Lab LA 2014

Ryan Crosson, Lee Curtiss and Shaun Reeves’ Visionquest Records broke onto the scene in 2011 with a string of big releases from artists such as Benoit & Sergio, Guy Gerber and Laura Jones. Fellow founding member Seth Troxler has since left the collective to pursue other projects, though the group has continued to add to their growing list of achievements, including a lauded Fabric Mix, a 13-date tour called ‘Visionquest 13’, and the launch of ‘Visionquest Special Editions’, a limited release vinyl-only label. Known for their epic back-to-back sets and good-time ethos, we’re really excited to have the boys back with us again.

Hot Since 82 - Live @ Mixmag Lab LA Special Edition 2014

The Lab LA is our weekly post-work party where we stream the finest American and international DJs from the heart of Hollywood. For this special edition to celebrate the release of his new mix album 'Knee Deep In Sound' we took Hot Since 82 to the Want Electronic Studios, at the top of the CNN Tower. In a few short years, Daley Padley's moniker Hot Since 82 has become synonymous with top-drawer, low-riding house music. The Leeds-based producer/DJ's stock has been on the rise in the underground British deep house scene since 2011, when he broke out with a string of great releases, such as 'Let It Ride' (Noir Music) and 'Knee Deep in Louise' (ITH). The last year has seen him rack up a Beatport number one with his remix of Green Velvet's 'Bigger Than Prince', a superb Essential Mix, and a cover feature on Mixmag's April 2014 issue. In case you missed it, you can listen to Hot Since 82's cover CD here. This Lab:LA coincides with the release of Daley's new mix album ‘Knee Deep in Sound’, which includes four exclusive tracks and new material from a variety of up-and-coming acts such as Moodtrap, Exacta and Kamero. The album will be released November 17 via his label Knee Deep in Sound/Ultra, and you can pre-order it here. The Lab LA is powered by Void Acoustics, and you'll be able to watch the Hot Since 82 takeover on Mixmag TV.
