Henichesk lake

Is the place with the red-pink picturesque water. It’s located in the very beginning of the Arabat Spit in Pryozerne village. There are also remains of the ruined salt factory.

At this place people used to extract salt. Therefore, it was divided into sectors by wooden piers. The salt solution circulates between them and the salt sinks on the ground.

The hotter the summer is, the brighter the color of the lake is.

The lake has its fantastic color because of microseaweed Dunaliella salina. It is capable to survive in extremely salty water.
