It is the biggest island in Ukraine and the Black Sea. It’s situated in the Karkinitska bay.

Dzharylhach is famous for it’s peloid and salt lakes. The water in them has lots of iodine and bromine. Even the air is saturated with these elements and also with ozone.

There is a Dzharylhach lighthouse on the island. It was designed by Gustave Eiffel.

The island is full of animals. Deers, does, boars, rabbits, foxes. There is also a Natural Dzharylhach Park on the territory of the island since 2009.

Human activity in the nearest city Skadovsk destroys the usual water balance of the coastal zone. Therefore, the water doesn’t сirculate as it should and the seashore can’t clean itself from the mule. The piles of mules are a perfect environment for the uncontrolled growth of seaweed and infections. The seaweed festers and stinks. If the water stays unclean, the clean sea will only stay in our memories.
